Last year, CANI made the following possible:

  • 11,839 families received help with their utility bills, either reconnecting services or preventing disconnect.

  •  6,065 children were provided quality child care in order for families to get or keep jobs or go to school.

  • 4,590 people with disabilities and 3,527 senior citizens maintained independent living situations.

  • 1035 children developed school-readiness skills in preparation for kindergarten.

  • 995 children obtained age-appropriate immunizations, medical and dental care.

  • 6,387 families were recipients of emergency food, housing, transportation, clothing, and utility assistance.

  • 933 families improved parenting and family-functioning skills, thereby reducing the risk of child abuse and neglect.

  • 940 people attended workshops on money management, interviewing and resume skills, or improving relationships.

  • 1005 families became more self-sufficient through intensive, home-based case-management services.

  • 331 families received monthly housing assistance in order to maintain safe and decent housing.                          

  • 429 families lived in safer and more energy-efficient homes.

  • 1,359 families participated in the EITC tax program and brought $2,100,497 into our community in Federal and State tax credits.

  • 347 individuals were unemployed and obtained a job.

  • 1,423 individuals were employed and obtained an increase in employment income or benefits

  • 959 households obtained health insurance.

  • 27 households obtained court ordered child support payments resulting in an $80,893 increase in their total household income.

  • 36 jobs were created or saved in our community as a result of CANI’s initiatives.
